Since Hurricane Katrina made land fall on the Coast it has been an absolute mess. Most of our docks and fishing related industries are gone or damaged beyound belief. With limited access to Hwy 90 most have not ventured out into the Gulf since the storm. Those that have managed to brave the debris have been met with some great fishing. The last days of Snapper season were fantastic with limits caught on ever trip and many fish in the 18 to 20 pound range.Since the end of Snapper season we've been fishing for Trout and Redfish on the near shore reefs and sand bars. The only word to describe it is Fantastic! Not to mention that boat traffic has not been a problem.Kinda strange to fish for 8 hours and never see another vessel in this area. The biggest challenges the Coast will be facing in the up comming season is the lack of lodging and some difficulty getting to marina areas due to major bridge damage.Having said that the fishing for 2006 should prove to be one of the most productive seasons in many years. Captain Ron's Charters is currently running trips and will be back in full operation for the 2006 season. |

Subject: Fall Fishing
Fall fishing along the Coast of Mississippi produces some great fishing and the past months have been no exception. The shallow wrecks have been producing some really nice catches of Black Drum and Grey Snapper. If Red fish is your target we are still seeing large schools working the passes between the Barrier Islands and they have been very receptive on live and cut bait. The light tackle action on the near coastal reefs has been fast paced producing some really nice Flounder and Trout.
Good Luck and Tight Lines

Subject: Fishing Biloxi Style
June fishing in Biloxi Mississippi has snagged catches of large size Black Tip Sharks, and nice Red Drum. There are a few catches of legal size Red Snapper and the Cobia seem to still be hanging around, along with the King Mackerel. The fishing tends to be great in the morning hours and slows down in the afternoon with the water temperature rising from the day`s heat. Keep those lines tight and have a great fishing day.

Subject: Fall fishing
The weather has cooled off, But the fishing has heated up. It seems we're getting a break from all the winds recent fronts have brought to the Coast. This has been a welcome change for the guys with the smaller fishing vessels to reach the off shore reefs for a couple of last chances at the Snapper before the close of the season. On the last trips to the deep water sites we have managed to limit out on Snapper in a very short time with lots of nice Kings to compliment the fish box. The inshore fishing has also been fantastic with the action offered by white Trout and Red Fish.
With most vacations over with and a lot of people being interested in other outdoor activities this time of year makes it a great time to book a charter and enjoy the great fishing fall has to offer.
Good Luck, Catch ya later |

Subject: Labor Day Weekend Fishing
The Labor Day Weekend fishing was terrific. The weather cooperated as well. We had two snapper trips that landed a limit of snapper and king mackerel as well as a few grouper. The parties were also fortunate enough to bag a few mahi mahi and ling as well. We also had two trolling trips that landed as many limits of bull redfish, a number of spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, king mackerel, bonito and some big black tip sharks. As most know the snapper season will soon be closed by the National Marine Fisheries. If you were planning a snapper trip you may want to get it in asap as there is no set date when the season will end. We will be running specials on snapper trips on week days during September and October or until the season closes. Please contact Capt. Jim McClellon at the address above if there is anyway I can help you. |

Subject: Biloxi Fishing
The deep water sites are still providing nice catches of Snapper and Kings with a few legal Grouper mixed in. Several nice Cobia have been taken on the deep water sites also. For those looking for action in a little closer the local fishing reefs have been providing plenty of action on Red Drum and Trout. |

Subject: Trout Fishing at Chandeleur
The trout fishing at Chandeleur has been very slow this year. It is picking up however with each and every period of rain that we receive. The salinity of the water has had an adverse effect on the trout, they have simply stayed up in the Louisiana marshes. Book your trip for mid September and I'll bet you will be pleased!

Subject: Fishing
Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is great. The big Red Drum have shown up and the Red Snapper are unbelievable. Sharks are great they are in closer near the islands because of the salinity, actually all the fish have moved closer and steadily biting. |
