Subject: WHAT IN THE HELL

MY FRIEND AND I HAD AN ENCOUNTER YESTERDAY WITH ONE OF THE MOST GROTESQUE HUMAN BEING EVER. WE WERE FISHING FOR STRIPERS AND HAD JUST COME BACK TO THE DOCK AT DARK AND WERE SET UPON BY SOME NAKED, HALF STARVED LUNATIC. HE HOWLED LIKE A DAMN WOLF AND SLAPEED US AROUND IN THE BOAT LIKE WE WERE DOLLS.MY GOD THEN HE SMASHED ALL OUR TACKLE AND THRU US OVER THE GUNWALES AND COMMENCED TO EATING OUR FISH RAW-ALL THE TIME GIBBERING AND LEERING AT US IN THE WATER. WE SWAM OUT AND AWAY AND FORTUNATELY ESCAPED WITH NOTHING MORE THAN BRUISES FROM THIS SAVAGE ATTACK. WHERE IN THE HELL DID THIS FOOL COME FROM? HAS ANY ONE ELSE ENCOUNTERED HIM?

Subject: Woody wins Big Tournament!

Here's some pics of the Winning Fish in the CCA Tournament out of Deltaville, VA. It was caught at Bouy 63A area about Noon, 12/01/2001 on a big glow-in-the-dark Umbrella Rig, way back down the middle. It took about 35 min to land and barely fit the net. The whole thing was extremely tense. The fish weighed 48.65 lbs and was 46in long. These aren't great pics but you can see the fish. (scroll down on Winners & Women, 2 pics)

The team was The Magnificent Seven, Woody, Mike, Richard, Harry, Ray, John, and Bud who reeled him in. We were on Captain Woody Robertson's boat, Sharon's Song and we were very happy to catch this fish. The total prize was $7,000 with the side bets and early bird checkin. WOW!

Subject: Fishing out of Reedville, VA

Spanish Mackeral have started showing up in moderate numbers along with a large number of small Bluefish. We had great catches of each this past weekend, with large Croaker up to 3.5 lbs. mixed in. Small to medium Grey Trout are still being caught along the channel edges, with peeler crab and squid strips proving to be the best bait. Rockfish (Striped Bass) are still being caught in the Middle Grounds and further North. Chumming still seems to be the best for them, although you may see some working the surface along with the Blues and Mackeral. To schedule your trip on the Chesapeake Bay, call Legacy Charters at 804-580-6507 or e-mail me at captbj@rivnet.net.

Subject: Stripers, Bluefish, Croaker and Trout

The recent hot weather has only increased the activity of fish out of Reedville, VA. Nice 4-8 lb. Stripers are being caught from the Triangle area up to the Targets off Pax. River. Small Bluefish in the 1-3 lb. range continue to provide plenty of action for chummers at the SW Middle Grounds. Croaker are everywhere. If you are chumming, try dropping a bottom rig down and see what you come up with. Nice 2-3.5 lb. Croaker have been caught in the chumline and up and down the channel ledge from lower 62 to above 72. Some nice Trout in the 5-7 lb. range have been caught in the early morning hours, but the daily average has been around 20". Contact Legacy Charters at (804)580-6507 to arrange your trip today!
