| Good News!!! I just got the word at 8:30 this evening that the Governor's office is sending out a press release explaining the finer details of Executive Order 2. It will clarify the misunderstanding, and allow for all new regulations passed by the DFG to go into effect without going through Department of Finance review. This means the 2004 groundfish regulations that were pass today will go into effect around the first of the year, which means we will be fishing 30 fathoms come January. The Commissioners voted to conform the California regs to the PFMC regs hammered out up in Seattle. They shot down the shorefishing/diver exemption during the March and April closure. Tomorrow's Commission meeting will switch to a "sub-committee meeting" due to the fact we will not have a quorum. Two of the Commissioners not be there, so they will receive testimony on the 2004 sportfishing regulations(boatlimits), but will not vote until Dec 16th during another telephone conference call. Stay tuned for more, Randy Fry | |||||

| so 2 of the commissioners won't be available to do their jobs. I hope they have legitimate excuses. I cannot get away with missing important meetings at w##k in the private sector. It's an obligation of their job. Bill | |||||
