With the heat of the summer in all it's blazing hot glory, the waters close to the reef have warmed up and the dolphin, whaoo and tuna have moved offshore with the Gulf Stream. If the Gulf stream moves in again expect the trolling to improve, but until then, there are great fishing opportunities along the outer reef as the Yellow Tail snapper and Mangrove snapper both spawn this time of year and they are both biting well. It is hot on the anchor, but if you can handle a half day, expect to be rewarded with a nice catch of delicious snappers. Both Yellow Tail and Mangrove snapper are excellent. If you are having either for dinner and it's not delicious......blame the cook!
