Bay fishing
I will be camping in morro bay for a week. I want to take the kids fishing. If anyone can help with a few questions here we go.
I want to try and catch sharks/mud marlin. What's the proper bait and rig. Also what tides would be best and where to fish. I also have a small boat if needed but would prefer to fish from shore or pier.
Thanks for any help.

3oz pyramid sinker with a slider. 18” 30lb leader to a single 3/0 octopus hook, half piece of squid. Can’t beat a negative tide for fishing rays

As suggested, one plus hours before low tide at the little t pier near Giovanis. One change would be to use wire leader in case a leopard shark comes along. You need a stiff rod to horse them from the moorings.

Thank you for the info. That's exactly what I wanted to know.
