They are getting lft off oregon finally
I started seeing reports of lft out of Oregon about a week ago. Looks like they are getting them about 45 or so out. This season seems to be different than than last several seasons for them. Maybe they will grace us with their presence off the central coast this year. God knows it's been long enough since we had a shot at them. If the old patterns hold up they would show up off santa Cruz and Monterey in about a month, to 6 weeks from now. With some luck we could get a shot at them a month or so after that, fingers crossed.

Today I got a report that the LFT are 10 miles off Fort Bragg. 10-15 per boat. Don't know the size yet.

Thanks for the report. Glad I'm not the only one with my ear to the ground.

The fish are 15-30 pounds. I'll be fishing there on Saturday. They are getting 20-30 per boat.

We fished Fort Bragg over the weekend. The average fish count per boat was about 24. The fish we caught were 12 pounds. The fish were in 65 degree water 27 mi west.

This week the albacore were 8-14 mi off Ft Bragg and boats were killing them. You could just stop the boat and throw iron. Counts were in the 80' for some boats.

We trailered up Friday and fished the temp break 20 miles out on Saturday. WFO 29 albacore, couple smaller ones around 15, couple fatties around 30 and most at 20-25 pounds. Nice grade of fish.
