Atta boy Katfish! How long was your soak? What type of bottom were you on? We will be in the water for the next couple days and I'll let you know how we did.

Soaked pots for about 20 hours. We were in a sandy and muddy bottom.

Good deal well we got out but we didn't STAY out. Plan was to drop pots Saturday morning, fish, check pots Saturday afternoon then set 'em back, spend the night in a slip then repeat on Sunday. Had the wife and a young greenhorn along. Wife's not a problem she's a salty ol broad. But the greenhorn was not handling the conditions. We tried going north from MB but the offshore made it too sloppy so we turned south and dropped pots in 150 ft, unfamiliar water, then tried to fish just north of the point. C&R'd some short lings on swimbaits and it was time to pull the plug. Managed a couple nice rockies on about a 4 hr soak. Next time!

right now, i would not like to be the recreational guy that entangles a whale in my pot. there are many struggling and waiting for the whales to pass before they can pay the bills.
